About the United Church of Christ:

The United Church of Christ is a mainline Protestant denomination formed by the union of the Congregational Christian and the Evangelical and Reformed (E&R) Churches. Their predecessors include the Pilgrims and New England Congregationalists, who pioneered our country's democratic institutions and whose pursuit of justice led them to defend the Amistad captives, and early event in the movement to abolish slavery. The E&R churches derive from the liberal wing of the German Reformation.

Fellowship Congregational Church was the only UCC congregation in Eastern Oklahoma for 50 years. We`re pleased there are now other congregations, Community of Hope, one mile east of us at 2545 South Yale Ave ( www.cohope.com ) and OpenTable UCC in Owasso (http://opentableucc.com/ .)

The United Church of Christ is characterized by respect for individual belief, local church governance, honor of various worship traditions, and active involvement in the world to further justice and create hope for all.
